The 63rd Evening Standard Theatre Awards took place in London yesterday evening, hosted this year by Anna Wintour. When the Editor of American Vogue is hosting a party, you want to dress to impress! I’m walking you through the looks I styled-up last night for Ophelia Lovibond, Naomi Ackie and Margaret Clunie, with a few tips and tricks on pulling out all the stops for December party dressing.
Rich textures such as velvet always add an air of elegance to any look, especially in the winter months. This beautiful dress from Emporio Armani nods towards Fall’s monochrome trend with its subtle front panel. If you’re wearing an up-do consider adding a statement stud earring, they are an absolute must for anybody looking to add a feminine edge without being overly fussy.
We opted for this beautiful panelled red dress from Temperley London for Naomi’s look, a colour that pairs beautifully with gold accessories. Hooped earrings are the perfect way to ensure your outfit look effortlessly chic, Naomi’s are from British designer Dinny Hall Jewellery.
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini could be one of my all time favourite brands, and the dress we opted for last night is an undeniable classic. For me, lace is one of the most romantic fabrics because it both conceals and reveals the skin, there’s something truly alluring about it. Adding gold accessories to any LBD will immediately make it fresh and feminine (think Dolce and Gabbana vibes). If wearing a sheer skirt you can afford to wear a heeled sandal that laces up the leg, it toughen’s the look slightly.
