QUESTION NO.1 – What items do you wear repeatedly?
Cultivating a functional wardrobe means finding out what you feel most comfortable in, and building on that.
Break down your wardrobe into outerwear, bottoms, tops and shoes. Take some time to really look at each section and figure out which styles & silhouettes you enjoy wearing. Ask yourself, why do I like this style? Do I feel more comfortable in trousers or skirts? Long-sleeves, loose blouses or close fitted tops? Flat’s, heels, or trainers? By figuring out what you wear repeatedly. You’ll see a pattern of similar styles surface, these are the pieces you feel most comfortable in and make up the foundation of your personal style. You should start building a working wardrobe around these styles. Below I’ve done an example of my working winter wardrobe based on the styles and silhouettes I enjoy wearing. Use this as a template for your own wardrobe.
